Does anyone know if there is some other system for measuring ferritin levels? I'm feeling confused as the lab that did my bloodwork has a reference range of 7-32. My doctor did not know how this is measured.

Mine is 1. My B12, folate and thyroid are normal. This does explain my severe fatigue and cognitive/memory problems, etc. I have already taken a bottle's worth of ferrous sulfate (I was feeling worse before I started), now on the second bottle.

Anyway, 1 does seem really low, whatever way you look at it. But is it really as bad as it looks? Or is there some other explanation? How can levels of 70 or 100 be recommended if the highest according to my lab is 32?

A few years ago I was at 16, and after supplementation 20. I felt so much better at 20!

Hoping this post makes sense... you wouldn't believe the stupid things I've been doing lately.
