pampantell--I am not a doctor, just a patient, from my experience this is what I have read and been told by my doctors. According to what I have read 6.2 Hgb count is a grade 4 anemia which is considered ~life threatening~, beyond serious anemia. Also, take your age into consideration because that makes it more serious of a situation. IMO, I would opt for the blood transfusion right now in your case. My doctor said that he would transfuse me if I got to a 7 but 8.5 was my lowest which is moderate anemia. I am still getting well 1 1/2 years later but no longer anemic. Typically anemic, as you stated, is not this serious in fact there is a big difference. Sorry that you are experiencing this. Liquid vitamins at this point aren't going to do anything for you at all. Please take measures to help yourself before you have further complications. It can get really difficult. Keep us posted if you want, we are here to help. FLFLOWERGIRL:)
