Re: Anemia
I have been diagnosed with Anemia and put on Ferrous Fumarate. I have been feeling realy down and wanting to cry most of the time. I am also doing things to make people hate me. is this normal.
louise7475--You don't say what your Hgb & Hct are so I'm not sure how anemic you are, mildly or what? Have you had your ferritin tested, the iron stores? The longer the anemia, the more symptoms.

I was moderately anemic with a 2 ferritin. I can tell you before I knew there was something wrong I was getting to the point (unlike myself:D) that I couldn't tolerate people and what they were saying. I would just blow a cork, so to speak or cry:(. Very shortly after this I found out what was wrong. When anemia goes on for a while you can also develop depression and/or anxiety. Many times people are told they are depressed when really they are anemic. Some are and some are NOT depressed. I would say it is very normal to be feeling ~cranky~ around people, but if you think this is something more, then you should speak to your doctor. Once you begin to get some iron in you after a few weeks of therapy, I would think this would resolve as mine did. It does take time to feel better, not a quick fix for many of us. Hope you are feeling better soon. FLFLOWERGIRL:)
