Hi. My recent blood test showed me to have iron deficiency (related to heavy periods). And I have been reading up on anemia and definitely have several of the symtoms.

The doctor I saw told me to take an iron supplement 3x a day to total 600-800 mgs. I have been using Floradix, which is only 12 mgs per serving, so 3x a day would only be 36 mgs.

On the other hand I've read about iron tablet supplements not being easy to absorb, and causing constipation & gas, & who wants that?

Can anyone advise me as to what supplements and/or therapies are best for raising iron levels without the intestinal discomfort?
