Forensicmom--For me I take a higher dose iron, the higher the dose the less the constipation it works in the opposite direction. You can try to eat an apple everyday. I think it works well. You don't need OTC meds you can use fruit, if you like it. If that doesn't work I would try changing iron to a higher dose maybe if you can tolerate it.

It takes a while to feel better. It took me a long while, but that is not true for everyone. It depends how low your numbers go, and for how long. Mine went on a long time before we knew it. Keep us posted.
