Re: Being anemic
Feb 10, 2009
I must admit I though this same question for many years. I've had 6 kids and over the years I have been handed my prescription for my prenatal and iron-they have always said your anemic. I thought you just take the vitamins and your better-right? Not true for everyone. I went in last year with many symptoms. My doctor did an iron test and it came back low in iron. I have been taking iron and many other vitamins for the last 20 years. Not to mention I eat great. The next doctor did a B12 and walla I was low in that too. He said that if you are eating at all your getting these vitamins. So, now the question-why is my body depleted? They feel I'm not absorbing them. It's funny how the first 20 years didn't seem to bother me. Now I feel like crap. Age plays a part in it too. You can't get by with such low #'s. Not to mention if you look at the side effects for B12(another cause for anemia) you will understand why I'm freaked out. It helps play a role in vital organs-your heart-brain-ect. Low #'s for a long time can cause dementia-I've felt like I couldn't remember things anymore-now I have an answer.

I hope this helps you. I noticed that you only posted once and it was here. I'm assuming your not just asking a random question-so do you have it?
