Hi,
I have fibroids, 14 week size uterus, thickened endometrial lining, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, everything wrong in there you can imagine, and I have horrible periods. I can't leave the house for 3-4 days for fear of an accident. I thought that I would never have an increase in hemoglobin or ferritin as long as I was having periods like this. BUT, somehow each month my hemoglobin has inched up and I am no longer anemic (hemoglobin now 12.9, up from 9.5) and my ferritin is creeping up as well (13, up from 2). It's a slow process with continued bleeding, but in my case it is happening.

As far as feeling better..... I haven't gotten there yet. I did find out I have Hashimoto thyroid also and just started on medication Monday. So, I am hoping this is going to be the magic bullet for me to start feeling better. Doctor also said hypothyroidism can cause heavy periods and she is hoping that treating this will help with my periods. I started on natural progesterone cream and that has done nothing to help with my periods, but has helped with the PMS and breast cysts and yuckiness.
