So I posted in here a few weeks ago about my symptoms, headache, ears ringing, fatigue, bruising, horribly aching legs, muscle twitches...
The first thing that popped in my head was anemia. I'm breastfeeding and it made sense that all my iron or most of it would go to my baby. My sister in law also said she was anemic when she was breastfeeding too. So I started taking my prenatal vitamins again and my symptoms started to go away. It has 156% daily allowance of iron. So I went to the dr Friday and she did a CBC, and a TSH because she suspected my thyroid too. She also did a "metabolic test to check for kidney function and glucose" she didn't tell me the name though. Her medical assistant called Monday and said eveything was normal.
I did mention to my dr that my stool was darker than normal even though it was mild at the time. It has since gotten darker. It's slightly harder than normal too. Here is my question. Could my iron be in the "normal" range but low enough to be causing my stool to be dark? And hard? Or could the iron in the vitamin be causing the hard stool and something else in the vitamin cause the dark color? It's not normally like this. It's actually on the light side. It looks like what Pepto Bismol does to stool. Any insight?
