I had chicken pox when I was 32. I had one of the worst cases the er doc had ever seen. I was covered in blisters and I was in so much pain I couldn't walk.

It took me six months to recover. Chicken pox is pretty major when you have it as an adult, and my bet would be that any swelling you have in your lymph nodes are still your body clearing the virus.

Regarding the anemia, it's hard to say - you could have something else going on. I've always been mild to moderately anemic, and I didn't have a CBC during my chickenpox, so I don't have an answer.

When was the CBC run - during the chicken pox or after and how longager? Was your white count still high? What was your MCV (size of red blood cells?)
