I was anemic also and my iron stores in my bones ferritin has been low also so I'm finished with the iron and take a multivitamin and multi-mineral daily. It's best if you don't drink too much soda as it can affect your bones later in life.

Instead drink water and increase you leafy vegetables especially spinach. I eat it daily especially baby leaves steamed there aren't bitter. Also if you're anemic and your ferritin(iron stores) are low you will never to be able to donate blood again. When I was younger I was also anemic due to heavy periods and not eating properly while in college. Cola has nothing to do with anemia but may have helped with your energy levels but proper exercise and getting your iron level up again will help you feel more energetic and less moody as the hemoglobin(iron) provides oxygen to all your body and tissues.
