that's pretty strange stuff with TIBC/transferrin not being high. in plain iron deficiency it should be high... so in your case something else is going on too.

especially with a ferritin level as high as that (by high I mean in normal range, not low). it's either high due to inflammation or it's just not iron deficiency at all.

serum iron measurement on its own is not reliable because it changes from morning to evening and depends on what you ate before the test, etc.

the saturation value heavily relies on serum iron value, so same issue with it.

if your doctor doesn't understand what anemia of chronic disease means, you should urgently find another doctor..... maybe a hematologist?

also I'm wondering about B12 levels? would have been cool to see MCV/MCH.
