I'm not sure if I'm even posting in the correct forum. Forgive me if not.
Sorry for the long history!

Went to doctor about 3 weeks ago to look into digestive problems - have since childhood - had very bad bowels and got to a point where I feel I need to do something about it.

Doc. took bloods and also checked for coelic disease and lactose intolerence. Also did pelvic and abdominal ultrasounds - all clear except very low B12.
I had bloods about 3 yrs ago where the nurse said my B12 was a little low and told me to eat more broccali and red meat (I always have done!).

The doctor says I have IBS - which seems to fit the bad bowel experiences I've always had. But didn't go into it at all.

I've been feeling woosey, dizzy, slightly dazzed, tired for ages but put it down to having 3 young kids. Over last 6 mths though have been wondering why I've been feeling so 'empty' after exercise or even walking the kids to school. I love exercise normally.

Doctor gave me 5 injections for B12 over 10 days and said - come back in 3 mths for more bloods. I found it all very emotional - also have had a lot of stress (bereavement and other large stress factors) over last 2 or 3 years so wasn't feeling strong enough to ask the questions I wanted to ask the doctor.

I was expecting to feel a little better but don't at all. I'm wondering how long it will take for the injections to kick in. Also I'm surprised that I'm left for another 3 mths before more bloods being done? Why would this be. Also I'm anxious about looking into WHY I have v. low B12.
I never had any other medical issues growing up, have always eaten a well balanced diet, I exercise etc. I'm 39.

I'm also worried about sometimes fainting when swallowing food. The doc said this was due to stress, but I'm not comfortable about that diagnosis. It seems to lodge in my throat and then I feel red heat flush up my face and when it hits my eyes then I'm gone for an instant. In the last 3 years I've only twice completely blacked out when eating, and woken to have one arm shaking around - but it's only 2 times in 3 years!!! The more usual is only every 2 mths or so when eating that I get the hot flush up my face and momentarily faint.

Very embarassed to go back to doc as he feels he's finished with me and the fainting thing is stress.

Love to hear any feedback on all of this or to point me in the right direction.
