Hi there,

My ferritin was 7 in May or so. Now--in Sept 2012--the level is at 49. I still feel tired and exhausted though. Most med articles I've read say 50-120 or so for "normal" ferritin levels. The NIH website said patients may not feel as good if they are in the lower range.

One of my docs told me to take 325 mg iron two times per day. I noticed that you are taking a lot less per day than I have been. Maybe ask your doc if you can take more iron per day to help increase the levels. I switched to a different iron pill and now take 210 mg 3 x per day for purposes of better absorption.

hi im new to this forum.
My ferritin was 9 and i've been on 3x100mg iron per day for 3 months but it s still only 22. I am so exhausted, but the colon specialist said yesterday that level would nt make me tired as my haemoglobin is 13.6. I m 44, what should be my level for my age? It's prob caused my heavy periods they said but doing colonoscopy to check. Replies would be great.[/QUOTE]
