I'm back from my 2nd Faraheme IV Iron. It was fine this time too.
I did start getting a stomach ache about 3/4ths of the way. The nurse kept an eye on me & even have me the option of hanging around there a while longer. It was a busy day there, a lot of chemo patients, bless the souls. (side note-the chemo patients I see there in the infusion rooms are amazing people! They always have a smile on their faces! 1 lady was coming in for a 2 hour potassium IV following her 8 hour chemo round yesterday! And she was joking around about it. Humbling.)
So, my friend drove me home. It's a beautiful day here today! In the high 60's. Friend wanted to go out for lunch, but I had to pass. I needed to lay down :(
The nurse did say to watch for a fever and/or vomiting, call them!
I think I'll be fine tho. The nap did help.
The Dr came by & asked how I did last week. She said to expect to feel the same way this time.
I do my labs in 2 weeks & am excited to see what the numbers are. Dr said I may need an infusion or 2 every few months, but for us to just think about Now, for now.
The side effects on Feraheme are far & few between. IV's have always freaked me out a little, but this was nothing.
I really wouldn't worry yourself about it to much. I was watched closely by a staff who was very attentive & knew what they were doing.
Oh! I gained 3 more pounds. Something is telling me it's water weigh tho. I've never own a scale, just go by how clothes fit. They fit no different!
Debbie :)
