I was dx with Hashimoto's disease in March of '11, but my thyroid levels are in the normal range and have been for several months(I'm on no medicine for that).

I have been feeling horrible...dizziness/lightheadedness, palpitations, heart racing, cold, shaking, etc. Well, I finally went to a dr that actually listened to my symptoms and she did blood work and found that my ferritin is at a 2.

I'm on 324mg of ferrous gluconate now. I just had a colonoscopy done and it came back normal and I have an endoscopy coming up on Wednesday. I'm still waiting on the blood work to come back to see if I have celiacs.

I have to have blood work done again in 6 weeks(I've been on the iron supplements for 4 days now).

My question is, for the past couple weeks I have felt like my tongue is swollen...it doesn't really look swollen except there are tooth indentions on the side....but it's been like that for awhile. Is this normal with low ferritin? It's driving me crazy. I hate feeling like it is swollen.
