Is this true?(My dr checked serum)

A normal ferritin level is 10-232 (this is the iron storage), different labs have different ranges. Normal would be in range, although, a healthy level is 70-100.

Iron Serum level range is 40-170 which is the circulating iron in the blood. This changes by eating meals and taking supplements. It is not a good indicator of how much iron you have in your body for use, the Ferritin is used for that measurement. "
Mostly true, although "in range" is not normal for ferritin. I'd say normal is no less than 50, and 70-100 would be a dream for me, though I'd prefer it even higher.

Since serum is part of your blood (it's the clear liquid that can be separated from clotted blood), your dr checked your iron levels in the serum of your blood. So the test is Serum Iron, not iron serum ;)
