The lab where my blood tests are done show a range of 37-47 as "normal" and I know that labs differ sometimes by quite a bit. It's my understanding that labs test a bunch of people, throw out a few top and a few bottom ones to get their ranges. It's not based on what it "should" be. So yes, for you, it could be too low.

I was at 36 and had significant symptoms and the doctor thought they were due to something else because she didn't feel it was low enough to have symptoms. But everyone is different. Are you taking iron yet?

After suffering through ferrous sulfate tablets and what they do to a person (except increase my HCT!), I added FloraDix after about two months of still having symptoms and had immediate relief. It's a liquid iron and tastes like yuck but that is a small trade off for the results you get. I was able to find it at my local health food store. It also has vitamin B in it which I think gives you a little energy too.

Good luck. I hate being tired, dizzy and cloudy. I can relate.
