I am in the opposite situation. I am "borderline" anemic however, I am post-menopausal so it's not due to that, I have a history of GERD, diverticular disease and pre-cancerous polyps. But my doctor doesn't think that having a colonoscopy in necessary (just had one two years ago) nor does she think any other testing is in order. She just wants me to take iron pills.

Although I find the preparation for colonoscopies uncomfortable, I think I would like to know that I'm not bleeding somewhere. So not having a colonoscopy etc. is causing some anxiety for me.

I'm not sure what you are worried about, your post doesn't really say. Are you afraid of having the procedures? None of them are terrible by any means. And if you don't have them, then wouldn't you always worry that it might be something other than diet?

You should be grateful your doctor cares about your health.

I hope everything turns out OK for you.
