Yes absolutely! I feel that same way. You can have a normal hemoglobin and low ferritin.
Thank you very much for your reply Carly.

one more question...my symptoms does not stay all the time they come and go..I suddenly get tired and after few hours everything come back to normal.

but the doc says if I am anemic the symptoms stay all the time....did you have constant symptoms?
Nope, mine come and go. I also have other symptoms besides the tiredness. I ache a lot and have shortness of breath somedays. Not everyday. Find a doctor that will take you seriously. You need a supplement. Hope I helped a little. Hang in there. :) also I noticed you are male, are you eating proper foods? Spinach and such. Add more veggies.
It was very helpful and supportive, thank you for the quick response it eased my mind a little.

I started taking ferrous sulphate from past 2 weeks (2 times a day) and eating lots of spinach and vitamin c foods.Hope I get better soon. Doc checked me for H pylori but it was neg. He said my symptoms could be because of anxiety and ferritin level (9) is not bad.I read it takes a long time to build up ferritin, will continue to take ferrous sulphate for another month and visit a diff doctor for tests.

I am glad I could help! Anxiety causing low ferritin?? I do know that low ferritin can cause anxiety. I have also learned through my hemotologist that most people don't feel better till a number of 50 or so. Might be different for men. I will ask when I see him next. Good for youdfor stepping it up in diet. I am horrible at eating greens. Keep me posted :)
I'm new to this board but also experience the same issues. I'm female- no female organs for 14+ years. I would think your doctor would want to know WHY you are anemic with a low ferritin. My ferritin is 9 and I'm getting iron infusions- no one should have to feel so weak and dizzy with a low ferritin when IV infusion is available- so much quicker. I will receive 4 more- every 2 weeks. It really sucks and now my BP IS LOW AS WELL. Have you checked yours- it can have the symptoms - weak tired and just fatigue.

I also have no colon- had Colectomy in March due to Lynch Syndrome. Had colon cancer in 2000.
Love my Life!
