Have you figured it out? I'm not an expert by any means, but from what I've read:
Transferrin binds with iron, so if its high that means there is a lack of iron for it to bind with. There is a lot of it waiting for available iron to bind with.
iron binding capacity being high also indicates this.
low iron saturation indicates low iron stores
iron isn't the best indicator of iron stores, I think its the amount of free iron in your system, but not "in storage" in your liver/bones.
I am betting since your iron is really low that your ferritin is extremely low.
Ferritin is the most accurate indicator of iron depletion since it is reflective of the amount of stored iron in your body.

looks like you are iron deficient and on the verge of anemia, if not already.
Your doctor will prob recommend supplementing. If not I would probably supplement anyway. No need to wait until you are anemia to do something about it. Too many docs wait until you have anemia to do anything about it. Even then they drag their feet. Be proactive, not reactive.
