I know I've seen this before but now I can't find it. If hematocrit is a relative number based on blood volume, there should be a way of determining if blood volume is low. I think i did it once before and it WAS low. Doc wasn't concerned because hemoglobin was ok but my RBC runs low (so maybe compensated by elevated MCV?). I'm starting to see how low blood volume could be related to my other problems so this actually may be important, after all. (I did have a bone marrow biopsy two summers ago because of chronic neutropenia and low RBC, reticulocytes (my bilirubin is very low-maybe also related?) and low platelets at times, but the doc messed up and they couldn't interpret the results-awful!!!)

Thank you for thoughts!
