... Does anyone else have only low iron saturation (aka low transferrin saturation)? It is the only value I have out of range. Mine is 11% (range 15-50%). My serum iron is 43 (range 28 - 170). TIBC (transferrin) is in the high end of normal (a year ago it was above normal.) Ferritin is in the low end of normal. So everything seems to fit the classic iron deficiency... (8 replies)

Sorry that you are feeling poorly, but this is typical of anemia and a possible combination of S/E's from the supplements. Sometimes it just takes a while for the body to get regulated with supplements. Then you may feel better or try another if this is causing you more problems. ... (27 replies)
... this is why ive been asking these questions becasue ive been reading up on low b12 and pernicious anemia. think ill have to ask my doctor about it next. so i could definetly have low b12 and feel anemic when my iron is fine? that would make sense as to why i have all the amemia symtpoms when i cant find any other illneses that could be casuing them? surely breathlessness,... ... All i can say is thank god for the national health service. Here in england i dont think we realise how fortunate we are to have such a thing. Although its far from perfect (cut backs, hospital closures etc), we dont have to rely on how much we can afford to pay to get basis medical assessments/tests. ... rely 12, I wasn't considered anemic. But I WAS. Even if you're on the borderline, you know when you feel bad. I would get dizzy on standing up, a fast heartbeat, breathlessness and fatigue. All symptoms of anemia, even though I wasn't "clinically anemic". Doctors really need to take it more seriously. ... (9 replies)
