... my doctor and had a SMAC done..Everything checked out ok except my Iron level was 3...She prescribed me Ferrance HP..Then in 97 I was in hospital and my Iron and B12 level was low...I took B12 shots for about a week or so while in hosp along with an iron supplement...What is the correlation between B12 and Anemia? ... ... I haven't heard this is hard on the organs, but I don't know everything about it either. Too much of anything is not a good idea. The shots have filler ingredients from what I understand, not just B-12 so you would be getting other things. If you are doing it for more energy I would try the sublingual OTC Methyl type to be safe. There are people here that have a lot more... (2 replies)

... For several years I gave myself B-12 shots every week and it made a big difference in how I felt. Being a mother of 5, I could not afford to drag around all the time. Our bodies have a difficult time absorbing B-12 from pills. Best to go with the B-12 shots. (9 replies)
... The exhaustion and burning tongue are symptoms of B12 deficiency, and it sounds like you need the injections more often than monthly, maybe every 2-3 weeks. I would ask Dr. for a Rx for a 10cc vial, (around $7.00), check different pharmacies for it, and take your own vial with you when the office is out. Better yet, get instructions on how to do it yourself or find a nurse... (8 replies)
