... r blood test are simply and indication of how much iron was there at the time of the blood test. Your iron goes up and down all day long, depending on the foods you eat, drink, your menstrual cycle etc. Looking simply at your iron level is not the best indicator as it's your ferretin level which is the important figure. ... ... and we are talking about an umber that can go all the way up to 200. My main thing with ferritin is, it takes forever to raise and I'm talking months, unless you do IV Iron. If you are doing iron therapy the oral route, it takes a long while. 2 numbers missing here, hematocrit and hemoglobin, do you happen to have these? ... (2 replies)
