... Usually not. Depends on how low your levels have been and for how long. I've been "iron defecient" forever! It's the resulting anemia that causes the problems. Again, it depends on the severity and duration. You can be iron deficient without being anemic. ... (2 replies)

... days to correct anemia. This takes I would say on the average 2 months. It took me 2 months to go from 8.5 Hgb to 12.9. on Ferris Sulfate 3X daily and a combination of iron rich diet.
