... Usually not. Depends on how low your levels have been and for how long. I've been "iron defecient" forever! It's the resulting anemia that causes the problems. Again, it depends on the severity and duration. You can be iron deficient without being anemic. I'm ALWAYS iron deficient but I'm not always anemic. I'm currently both but it's not "bad" so I'm just a bit tired. ... (2 replies)

What you told me echoes what the hematologist told me, which is that while I basically have "sufficient" iron, it's basically the bare minimum and there aren't any iron stores built up. She said this is due to the fact that I had 19 years of really heavy periods (starting after my first son was born) and the fact that I wasn't taking iron supplements or... (9 replies)
... You do not have to have anemai to be deficient in B12 at all.......i dont think missing the gym has anything to do with it..You do have all the symptoms of one for sure and please do not rely on your nails for diagnosing anything.... ... (16 replies)
