... I havent been diagnosed yet, but due to low ferritin and hemo i have a drs appt next week and i think they are looking towards anemia. My iron is okay so im wondering if its folic. ... ladder problems and thought the tiredness was due to the gall bladder. Found out I was anemic and was put on iron. Between dealing with the gallbladder and the iron I gained back the weight I had lost, was fatigued all the time and couldn't concentrate. I basically laid on my couch unless I was at work. ... ... Any infusion drugs carry with them the possibility of allergic reactions. The drug is going directly into your bloodstream. The iron is "different" only in the way it is being administered. There are many different types of iron and if you can not tolerate one you can often tolerate another. ... (8 replies)

I was afraid of a transfusion and they told me if I went home and remained on bed rest until they could get me set up with an IV iron treatment, they would concede but if I had rapid heart rate or breathing problems to proceed to an emergency room for the transfusion. ...
