... count was 8.2. I was given large dose Ferrous Gluconate Irons tablets and within 2 weeks felt much better. Its only during the last couple of days that I've felt light headed, spaced out, tired, anxious and very weak. I feel like I'm going to fall over. I don't understand this as my blood count last week had shot up to 11.6. ... (4 replies)
... Iím no expert by any means but it doesnít strike me as unusual that your iron numbers are low, especially if you had extremely heavy bleeding last year. Your levels probably dropped low during that time. If you continued to have a period after your endometrial ablation, even a light one or short one, your numbers most likely steadily dropped (assuming you still have your... (3 replies)

... cy but have pernicious amaemia and was diagnosed 3 months ago after living with it undiagnosed for over 10 years, i have the same stomach problems, racing heart, light headed etc, if the problem is just with iron then this is probably no help, but ask doc to check B12 levels because symptoms of one amaemia can cause another. ... ... Tks Flowergirl! Thanks so much for answering and for your input. I do think it's du due to a malasborptition problem and as you said a lack of vitB and son was constipated real bad and had lost a lot of wait. I think that, that constatipation problem that persisted for months didn't let him absorb vitamins, minerals and iron and those brown irregualr patches... (24 replies)
... Lubia, I had two different types of darkened areas of skin. The one on my forearm was a distinct geometric pattern of dark brown criss-cross lines and other markings, that looked like it had been methodically painted on for some special occassion. It persisted for months. The other developed later - two identical triangular patches extending from the base of the neck on... (24 replies)
... Has your doctor checked your thyroid levels? You're symptoms sound all toooo familiar to me, you don't need to have an enlarged goiter to have the symptoms and you are at the age of female reproduction and of course hormones that go in the speed of light, stress too adds on to it. Look, on your next visit insist on the doctor to order labs for thyroid. You don't need an... (16 replies)
... Hormones are a big culprit too, I know. My hair was the worst when my iron was low and ferrin was below 20. I still have light shedding, but I also have Hasimoto's Thyroiditis and take Synthroid. Adjusting doses of Synthroid for me also seems to aggravate the situation. ... (8 replies)

... and my ferritin was 6 a few months ago. Everything is as you said, my fingernails almost white, pale skin, bruise easily, etc.etc. The gums are light pink though, not white. I guess that's a good thing. ... (9 replies)
... THey are slowly getting some color to them...a light pink, plus the ridges are a lot less. They still start to curl then they get long, so I keep them really short. ... (9 replies)
... e end finding a couple of good doctors who found lots wrong. I can happily say i'm on the road to recovery. Not quite there yet, but at least i can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. ... (21 replies)
... Dear FLFLOWERGIRL, That's not stupid at all; and actually I had thought whether buckwheat was as common in other countries as it is here. The one we have at stores here is usually pre-steamed (the color is light brown), so it takes little cooking time. I think the fresh, green buckwhaet, might take a bit longer. There are a couple of ways to cook it. Add it to boiling... (15 replies)
... vitamins today so I'm hoping these will make me feel better soon, and I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow, too. But any light on the situation from you guys would be greatly appreciated. ... (3 replies)
... also you mention the myelin sheath that needs B12. When I had my MRI's they give you dye to "light up" any lesions that are active. strangely none of mine ever lit up and I have since heard that non active lesions are more in line with Hypertension or such destruction as comes from ..B12 defienciency. I had a few lesions and yet was still diagnosed with MS. I am still in... (48 replies)
... Thanks so much for your reply, only people who have had to live with this kind of thing understand what it is like to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. I appreciate all your advice.
