... Okay, so I went to doctor to get some blood tests done for various STDs, and such. I've been under a lot of anxiety about possible STDs, right? So I have some tests done, including a thyroid test that came back 2.56, which I think is in normal range according to the (.5-5.5) next to it, besides it wasn't underlined like the stuff that showed irregularities. WBC:... (0 replies)
... Hi everybody, I have received my latest blood work. I will be speaking to my doctor on Friday about it. I have put my lab results side by side for ease. It appears my levels are all a bit higher. I was very sick the day of the test, so that likely explains my higher WBC. My retic is still a lot lower than I would expect though. Do I still need to see a hematologist or is... (6 replies)

... Hi all, Last year I had some blood work done that showed very mild anemia for a few months. My doctor ran an absolute retic count which came back as 15 (ref range 25 - 80). She ran it again in the future, with the same results. Due to my red blood cells floating around low-normal, she decided it was likely just normal for me. Recently at my annual checkup, she reran the... (6 replies)

... Could it be anemia? I did a blood test through a private lab and everything but the RDW was normal. I have an appointment with my doctor but it is a little ways off and I would like to go into it prepared with questions/some info, so your thoughts would be appreciated. Lab results: WBC 7.9 (4-10.5 normal) RBC 4.78 (3.8 to 5.1 normal) Hemoglobin 13.1 (11.5 - 15 normal)... (2 replies)
... I am a regular blood donor and have been for 5 years donation 5 gallons at this point. Lately, over the past 2 years, I often get rejected, but try again a few weeks later and am accepted. I donated three weeks ago and three days after that I went for my annual physical which included blood work. The doctor said I had anemia of chronic illness based on: RBC: 4.10 ... (0 replies)
... I originally went in for depression/anxiety, I was simply at my wits end. GP gave me ssri and xanax scrips...along with lab check. Also told them I don't tolerate opiods or synthetic iron well at all. The office called that night said my labs indicated need to come back asap. First GP was not in next day, so had another dr give me the results below and scrip for ferrous... (9 replies)

... I've been dealing w/ some underlying issues that led to severe anemia. I had surgery on 1-11-11 to correct the issue (which stopped the bleeding) but my iron numbers aren't increasing. My Dr. won't refer me to a hematologist as she thinks since my anemia was due to heavy monthly bleeding which she feels has hopefully been corrected, and that it's an iron deficiency not B12 or... ... Ive not had a menstrual cycle for 7 months now due to an endometriosis treatment. In the past my iron has been blamed on heavy periods but Im starting to think -- it must be something else. Ive had a colonoscopy and one polyp removed. Endoscopy showed some inflammation in my small intestine but my celiac tests came back normal. Im scheduled for a pillcam soon and just... (4 replies)
... Hi- I recently visited my dr because I'd begun to experience significant hair loss in recent months, and had been feeling tired, unable to concentrate etc. She did a number of blood tests, the results of which indicated an iron deficiency, which she thinks is contributing to my hair loss. I'm on ferrous sulfate, 3x a day and supposed to go back for retesting in a month. I... (1 replies)
... I have been anemic my entire life as far as I know. I do not have regular periods. They are approx. every 4 months and a week long~sometimes heavy. However, I have always been anemic with bloodwork "slightly" out of whack. My doctors over the past few years have done lots of blood work...thought it was iron deficient. Treat it with iron, found out B12 deficient, now shots... (1 replies)
