... Hi everyone. Got a call from my doctor today saying my CBC from my routine physical was not normal. Basically: RBC = high WBC = high Platelets = high RDW = high Hematocrit= low MCV = low MCH = low MCHC = low Hemoglobin and all the subtypes of WBC were normal. (0 replies)

... I have iron deficiency anemia also. Your numbers are very similar to mine. (I'll include the relevant ones below.) My doctor referred to my anemia as "mild." Since I'm male and the averages for men are higher than for women, my numbers are slightly further off from the average than yours are. Thus, your anemia is most certainly mild, too. ... I'm just waiting of the dr coming back off his holidays to have the biopsy. My hb is now only 8.7 and I'm cross matched 2 units should it drop more or should I feel I need it. This time my FtR came back as being iron deficient also so I am now taking some iron tablets. How can it be functional and deficient? Got more of my results anyway. Coombs test was negative ...
