... Hi I just got my ferritin levels back. They were 38 with a hemoglobin of 14. I also was just diagnosed with hypothyroid also. The dr. said 38 is on the low side of normal. How long shoud I continue iron to get it back up to a better level? Thanks (3 replies)

... leighsa200--Welcome to the boards! :wave: Sometimes symptoms and lab result do not catch up with each other. In other words you may have symptoms and yet they are not showing on labs. Perhaps you were borderline or mildly anemic and the iron was all that you needed to fix the problem because it was not yet a big problem. Just guessing here. This may have contributed to...
