Pernicous anemia

... I have been diagnosed with pernicous anemia(B12 deficiency) and I have numbness in my fingers, but I also have numbness in my upper abdomen. Is this normal? My doctor can't understand this, and she is sending me for a CT scan, and to a nuerologist. Does anyone think this being thorough enough? ... hi, thanks for replying. got in to see doc this morning. she says i haven't got anaemia but says i shouldn't be feeling short of breath or ill. that's what i don't understand. she said i have also got really low folic acid levels too. she is going to speak to the heamatologist to see about further tests. now i'm even more confused. why won't she believe me how short of breath... I'll post here what I posted in another thread: During my last round of visits with my GYN late last year, she detected that I had 3 polyps, which turns out played a role in my heavy bleeding, my really bad PMS, cramps, etc. Since they were removed, the bleeding was really heavy for about two cycles then... ... many thanks for reply. had 1st infusion today, so far so good, felt a bit weird during infusion (like being slightly drunk) and felt a bit queasy this evening. Due to have another on thursday, then one following week. Due to be seen by gyne doc cos heavy periods seem to be the problem, got my ferritin up from 2 to 7 with spatone water then go back down to 2/3 after period.... (13 replies)

... hey both of you If you have pernicous anemia, it means that your stomach will not take up b12 vitamins because 1 you don't have intrinsiq faktor or 2 the cells which take up b12 are not working both things mean that you will have to take b12 shots (to get the b12 directly into the muscles) normally the values need to be in between 150 an 750 but lots of people feel...
