... Oh Jackie thank you so much for responding to my Messages, yes I am a warm antibody type also. Due to the MS,I was Diagnosed with this in 2000, have been in the hospital twice have had 4 transfusions been on 120, 80,& 70 top dose of prednisone. ... I totally understand your frustration. I think our stories are very similar except that my doctor has only suggested a splenectomy if the prednisone stops working. That will be the next course of action for me if my hemoglobin starts dropping quickly again. ... (3 replies)

... I was just diagnosed with this disease a week and a half ago and I'm also on 20 mg of pred and having some problems with insomnia. As for preventing it from coming back, has your doctor mentioned having your spleen removed? Mine said that if the anemia doesn't respond to the prednisone, splenectomy is the next step. ... Hello everyone, It's nice to know that there are some people on this site with AIHA, even though it's an awful disease. Debeeg and Marilyn, I hope you are feeling okay right now. I have just stepped down the prednisone to 30 mg/day and will be 20 mg/day in a few days. The major side effects for me are constant hunger and insomnia. Oh....and water rings... (9 replies)
