... Can anyone comment on what type of anemia I could have? My numbers are below. I am waiting for the result of my ferritin and other iron test. From what I've read, to have iron or B12 deficiency, my MCV and MCH should be either higher or lower. BTW- I’ve been on prescription B12, B6 and Folic Acid most of the year so I don’t think I’m deficient there. Abnormal WBC... (1 replies)

... hello, so on Thursday i went to go and give blood at my local place in the UK- it would have been my 5th donation but i was refused as my haemoglobin test failed. So they did another, more thorough one, which also failed. The said it needed to be 125 (to 180), and mine came back as 108. They said they'd write to me and let me know if i should see my GP, which they have done... (4 replies)
... You have to remember that those ranges that are given are taken from the general population, and they're averages. Your father is not typical for the population as he is older, and the numbers that you are seeing are really not THAT low. However, if he is having symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting etc. etc., it's probably a good... (2 replies)

... My doctor tested my blood back in 2011 and I was told that I was mildly anemic. She told me to take an iron supplement for 3 months. I did and then stopped taking it after 3 months. My next blood test was in February 2013. Here are the results from the lab: WBC 11.5 should be 4.0 to 11.0 k/mm3 RBC 4.85 should be... (4 replies)
... Hi all, I've been reading up on anemia ever since I got my labs back and I'm still not sure what my results mean. I didn't even have the labs done for fatigue or what-have-you. I asked to have them done because I take a lot of ibuprofen for arthritis & was worried I might be damaging my liver or kidneys. Turns out my liver & kidneys are just fine but I'm anemic & my CBC is... (10 replies)
