... THESE are one reason your doc says it's iron deficiency. MCV means mean cell volume and basically indicates the size of your red cells. Less than 80 or so is small, and more than 100 is big. ... (2 replies)

... I received my labwork back from the NP and I have been diagnosed with IDA. She gave me iron pills but I had a total colectomy a year and a half ago and I think the IDA is from not having large intestines.
