... Hello, I am new to the group, I have had anemia for 10+ years and take a gentle iron to treat it. All of my numbers were good on my last lab (good iron, ferritin, RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit, MCV, MCH, etc ).... all good in range. My Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concent. was 35.4 (range 31.-35) and my RDW Coefficient was low 10.7 (11.-16). Do these numbers mean anything... (0 replies)

... Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I've tried to do some research on my own, but I am at a loss. I will start out by saying that I had a baby back in April 2014 at which time my other labs were within normal limits except for my Hgb and Hct (7 and 24 I believe). I recently followed up with my primary care doctor for symptoms of chest pain, shortness of breath... (1 replies)
... Hi everyone, I was recently diagnosed with anemia. I have listed my test results. I don't know if anyone can interpret them to tell me what type of anemia it might be or if its just Iron Deficiency. I am concerned about taking supplements and wondering when doctors usually allow you to do infusions. My GP said I don't need them. I also was tested for celiac disease, but... (1 replies)

... I have iron deficiency anemia also. Your numbers are very similar to mine. (I'll include the relevant ones below.) My doctor referred to my anemia as "mild." Since I'm male and the averages for men are higher than for women, my numbers are slightly further off from the average than yours are. Thus, your anemia is most certainly mild, too. I was also put on an iron and vitamin... (7 replies)
