... Hi, I'm a bit confused by some recent test results. I've been anemic a few times before: several times as a kid, once before I was diagnosed with celiac, about a year ago (while I had some severe period bleeding), and now (not bleeding so much anymore). A year ago my lab results were: RBC: 3.87 (4.2-5.10) L Hemoglobin: 12.6 (11.7-17.1) Hematocrit: 36.8 (38.5-45.0) ... (3 replies)
... I think it's a normal thing. When I was anemic and as my lab reflected it was a long, long process getting to that point, my RBC's were consistently normal values. However, my Hgb was 8.5 and my ferritin a 2, so I would say it is normal. That has been my personal experience. Now, when there is a simple iron deficiency anemia present, your labs with look like this: CBC... (12 replies)

... you may be taking to much iron. What does your doctor say? I would think your doctor would lower your iron. You can get to much iron and it will cause your problems with your liver, heart, pancreas, skin, joints, and overies for woman, and testes for males, so if I were you I would ask my doctor to lower the iron I was taking. or at least find out why he hasn't done...
