... Susie--Are the B's added only for rebuilding RBC's per your hematologist OR is it because of a B-12 deficiency? Rachel is right, I took 3X ferris sulfate with 500 mgs each dose. This is what is typically recommended. My hematologist actually DID recommend adding Vit-C but, it was already included in my iron. Vit-C can also be added to a heme iron meal to mega increase... ... flowergirl--I know how hard it is when you have so many symptoms. Especially when your taking multi meds. that cause even more of them. ... My doctor is recommending a colonoscopy. I do take medications for acid reflux. I have done 2 stools and both have been negative. I did not get the B-12 and Folate checked. I have really been tired and... (3 replies)
... r found a bleed so they think that it was from the gastritis. She even had a small bowel series and nothing ever showed up. She had no idea at all that she had reflux or a problem in that area. I myself have been on Nexium for 7 years and never thought that she had a problem, hers was silent which is a rather scary thought. ... (14 replies)
... I see a hematologist for my anemia. I am also frustrated that no one but me seems interested in "why" I am anemic and they just pump me up with another iron IV every six months when it gets low. On my own, I went to a gastroenterologist who suggested a colonoscopy and I suggested to him that maybe he should test for Celiac. I had to ask the hematologist if I was B-12... (4 replies)
... Liver enzymes could be elevated due to blocked bile ducts. That may or may not be detected by sonogram. I do know that an ERCP(endoscopic retrograde Cholangiopancreatoscopy) would allow the doctor to directly visualize the bile ducts and the pancreatic ducts for stones, or other blockages.
