... Adrenalin should stop the hives in their tracks, it may also be worth trying a different antihistamine, some people respond better to one than another (2 replies)

... They may need to pretreat you with IV steroids (Prednisone or Solumedrol) It will help. You'll be edgy, but it will stop the hives. (2 replies)

... Hello, I was recently diagnosed with severe anemia with a HGB of 5.8. I had a blood transfusion and 2 iron transfusions in which I broke out in hives both times after receiving 50 cc of benadryl. I still have 18 more treatments to go, will I ever be able to have the treatments with out breaking out in the hives? My hemotologist wants me to continue the treatments! (2 replies)
