... I think a good rule of thumb is if an activity leaves you short of breath when you are anemic, you are probably too weak to do it, so baby step it. Yeah, honestly, anemia can leave you an absolute invalid. It sucks, but when your doctor says "Take it easy", he probably means what you *are* doing is still too much, and that SUCKS when you are doing virtually nothing, but that's... (3 replies)

... I am sorry that you are not doing so well. I do not know the answer because I am not sure of the question. It does sound sort of like you have some over active blood platelets though. Maybe things will start to get better soon. Good luck. (5 replies)

... The anemia will make you feel cold. I imagine the anemia could be caused by a B-12 deficiency. That is a common age-related problem. The B-12 problem could be caused by your RA medication. Ask for the Schillings Test. The gallbladder problem could also be causing the problems as well. But, be glad your blood pressure is that low. Most people are always fighting to keep theirs... ... Yes the values are a little off. The truth about anemia is that when it first starts, you have many more uncomfortable symptoms than you do once you have had it for a long while. For instance, if you are anemic because of losing extra blood in surgery, or having heavy periods all of a sudden when you were used to light ones, the symptoms of anemia will cause you to feel as... ... I heard of paralysis happening to a painter (who died this past 2003 as a young man about 44). He was being seen for prostate cancer, and he had pain in his back & bones, but didn't get a diagnosis for that. He was paralyzed due to? The chemical that affects painters & many others is 2-butoxyethanol (a pesticide, solvent, poison). The first thing people notice who are... (0 replies)
... All these symptoms and suggestions are accurate. However, the term mild anemia is diagnostic, not descriptive. Profound anemia is a hemoglobin under 7 with the hematocrit and other factors off as well. Mild anemia is with the hemoglobin off (out of range, but not detrimental to the heart at this point) Mild anemia is supposed to be treated before it turns into profound anemia... (8 replies)
... Hi, Just a thought but you could check over on the inner ear thread - that bouncy floor feeling etc is very common when you ahve a vestibular problem as are your other symptoms. I myself feel that way too and lightheaded. I have also been very anemic earlier this year due to surgery (I lost 3 pints) and did not have a transfusion. I have NEVER known such intense... ... I didn't have the bypass surgery, but, 1/2 my stomach was removed due to an ulcer (15 yrs. ago) Because of that, I have iron def. anemia and will have to be treated for it the rest of my life. The bottom portion of the stomach is the part that absorbs iron and with that part gone, I now have to have iron infusions to bring my hemoglobin count back up. Once it's back up to... (28 replies)

... Thanks for your replies so far. I am copying this from another post. I usually hate it when people do that, but you guys are anemic, so I guess you can understand the fatigue and depression of it all. My D&C went fine, but my old bleeding pattern emerged about a day after the surgery. I waited a week and then I called the doc. She had me wait two more days so I called... (33 replies)
