... I'm wondering what the difference is between Ferritin, Serum Transferrin, and Transferrin Saturation(iron saturation)? In addition to Ferritin and %Transferrin(iron) Saturation(from TIBC), I also had my Serum Transferrin tested (not knowing if there was a purpose/benfit to knowing this). Insight anyone? Thanks! ... You feel well because you have enough iron in circulation and you are not anemic at all with a 15 Hgb. Your ferritin is what is low and that can take up to a year to replete. This means you have no iron stores which is a reserve for whenever the body needs iron. ... (3 replies)
... Also worried that my ferritin is very low normal. ... (4 replies)
... Now that absorption is much better my iron is creeping up, UIBC and TIBC both going down. Ferritin was up 4 years ago, and has been creeping down. Perhaps lower Ferritin is associated with hashi as suggested. ... (21 replies)

... Hi, to try and cut a long story short. My ferritin levels were found to be low years ago. ... (15 replies)
... Your numbers do look pretty good. An ESR and CRP would probably be elevated if you had a chronic infection. But a CBC checking your white blood counts would probably need to be done also. Your ferritin, of 54, is low for a man and that could possibly give you your symptoms, but getting a doctor in the U.S. to buy that is probably slim. I hate to say it but sometimes... (7 replies)
