Low Ferritan

... and just gave me iron. The level never really changed and I was used to it being low so I never made a big deal about it. Recently a Dr. told me it was at 8 and my Ferritan was at 1. She told me 1 is the lowest she had seen. I have to go for and Endoscopy and Colonscopy. I am very nervous. ... (9 replies)

... I use the Imperial system and don't know what your numbers mean. But here's my thoughts for what they're worth. If your hemoglobin is under "normal" for your lab, you are anemic and any good doctor will at the very least tell you to take iron tablets. ... (13 replies)
