You need medicine because you should not have to endure these weird feelings so often and the problem is not in your head but in your body. If you had cancer or thyroid or heart problems you would need meds. Meds should not scare you but give you hope. I thought I could do without meds too and my doctor finally said to me, "When are you going to accept the fact that you just plain need to stay ON the Zoloft?" High cholesterol runs in my family though we are all fit, not overweight and my brother is a runner. We all take meds. Do yourself a service and see a psychiatrist and ask if you can start on a very low dose of Zoloft. They even prescribe that for kids in some cases. A doctor once said to my husband that you don't have to be as tough as a Marine. Be good to yourself and get off the merry go round. Hugs!

Thanks so much for the advice....

*sigh*.... It's just so disheartening...... :( So basically you're saying that no matter what natural things/techniques someone tries, that unfortunately anxiety is something that can't be managed in some people WITHOUT medicine??

For having suffering it for so long I really don't know too much about anxiety. Is it something that can ever be "cured"? Or is it just "managed"? Is it degenerative (getting worse over time)? Or can talk/behavior therapy help significantly?

I just hate the feeling of having to depend on some type of medication and the side-effects.... :(

What differences have you personally seen while being on Zoloft/or the medication you're taking for anxiety?
