Re: Klonipin
Hi Lori J:
Have you ever tried prozac for this TMJ disorder and anxiety from it? I have a prescription for it and am afraid to try. Do you get the clogged ears and vertigo from the TMJ also?
No, TMJgirl, I have never been on Prozac. I was on amitriptyline for 6 years, but I became tolerant of it & have been changed to vivactil which is of the same family as amitrip. and is working great for me for anxiety, stress & depression. Any good AD should help with your anxiety, as long as it's one that you can tolerate. I was tried on Lexapro & had all the physical side affects, so then changed to effexor xr and had rapid heart beat & was so hyper I could not sleep. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find one that works for you. I also take Klonopin to help me sleep and it also relaxes me during the day so I'm not clenching & irritating the jaw.

Why are you afraid to try prozac? If you try it & within the first few weeks, you have bad reactions you can always go off of it & try a different one.

No, I never had he vertigo from it, but my ears popped, crackled, whistled (which they still do) had awful pain in ears, neck, head, eyes and even numbness from the ear to my lip on that side. I have talked to others that have had the vertigo with it though. I had all the tests & there was never anything wrong with my eustachion tubes, but I always had a full feeling in my ears.
