Hey Everyone,

I posted my symptoms in the inner ear forum, so I'll post them here too to see if anyone has had similar experiences. Basically about 5 months ago I started feeling slightly light headed and spaced out. This was on and off until about 3 months ago and now it's all the time. Feels like I can't think, can't concentrate, I feel dizzy but mostly it's this spaced out feeling. I have had anxiety attacks with the feeling. My doctor thinks it's anxiety, and I had originally thought it was an inner ear problem. Basically my main problem with it being anxiety is that the feeling of spacing out started before the anxiety attacks and that the anxiety isn't triggered by ANYTHING. I mean, I thought I'd be anxious about a presentation in front of 50 people, and it went fine. There's nothing I can think of that triggers the attacks at all. My doctor has put me on a low dosage of lorazepam temporarily so that I can sleep better, and this helps a lot. I usually don't take a daily dose, just one at night. (.5 mg, rarely 1mg).

Now, there are a couple of things that make me think it could be anxiety. A little over a year ago I went to emergency with heart palpitations. I had the usual heart tests and everything was fine, it seemed to be fine after that. Looking back, that was probably a panic attack. Also, I think I've had small anxiety attacks before, maybe 2 or 3 in my life, mostly after drinking too much coffee though. Also, it happened around the time my parents got separated and I broke up with my girlfriend of 3 years.

Either way, my main troubling symptom is this spaced out feeling. I feel clumsy and unable to think clearly all the time. Is this common with anxiety? Feels like I have clouds in my brain. I have a CT scan scheduled but not for a few months, and I'm going to see my GP on wed when I'm going to ask for a referral to an ENT and an allergist. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks.
