Hi, My name is Sarah and I have been dealing with all these same symptoms for almost 5 months now. I've always had GAD and a little bit of depression ever since I was a little girl, but I KNOW in my soul and in my heart that these physical symptoms have nothing to do with that part of me. I had been on Prozak for years and was feeling pretty darn good with my life and my GAD was pretty controlled when these symptoms came on. The spaciness is the worst for me. My ears are also full and always pop, and my muscles are tense and light is sensitive to my eyes and I am always fatigued and tired and there is always pressure in my temples and pain on the top of my head. None of this started untill I went to the dentist. My symptoms started April 15th 2004 and it is now almost September. After seeing neurologists, several general practioners, ENTS, pychiatrists, etc., and taking many many tests, I believe now that I am seeing a chiropracter that all of this is due to muscle spasms in my neck and head and cheek area. Cervical X-Rays show an abnormal curve (or rather lack thereof) in my neck and it turns out that this pressure and muscle tension can cause a whole RACK of physical AND emotional symptoms. Even though the prozak was working fine...when these symptoms came on I started getting extremely depressed and having MAJOR anxiety attacks every morning when I wake up. Sometimes I just wish I would never wake up. My shrink has put me on Wellbutrin this summer, Zoloft, and now Lexapro with NO RELIEF because he seems to think this is anxiety related as well. These drugs did NOTHING for my symptoms. The chiropracter will be doing ultra sound therapy on my neck, spinal adjustments, Electro heat therapy, and massage therapy 3 times a week for 12 weeks. I also have an apptment with a neuromuscular dentist in 5 days. I don't believe that this spaciness and headaches came from anxiety. I was not anxious when this started. My life was good. What I have been told is that because the dental procedure was so long and because my jaw was open for such a long time, all the muscles in my jaw area and neck area spasmed and contracted and pulled some things out of alignment. These types of muscles just don't heal on their own like regular muscles. After talking to this chiropracter she seems to be the only person this whole summer that has actually talked to me like I am not crazy or making these symptoms up. I know I am not better yet, but for all of you that share the same symptoms it can't hurt to go to a good chiropracter, take a couple of cervical X-Rays and see what they have to say. I will keep everyone updated. Feel better. I will pray for all of you and please keep me in your prayers as well.
