ttt to the top!
buspar is expensive and heavily promoted to docs, its basicly a tranquilliser of a different type to valium
unlike valium it needs to be taken daily and isnt effective for panic attacks

I and many others think its little better than the placebo effect

wellbutrin is one of many antidepressant meds, these help often but can have strong early side effects
I took it for a month and didn't notice a damn thing. I was up to 30-35 mgs a day. My doc wanted me to continue and up the dosage to 45-60 mgs. Who knows if that would have helped. I have asked a couple of doctors what they thought of this med and they basically said it doesn't seem to work for anybody.

I am currently on a really low dose of Lexapro and that seems to be helping my anxiety.

Hope you find relief soon.

I agree. I took it for 6 weeks a few year ago..didnt do a damn thing. Nor did Effexor. But hell, we don't know our bodies like the docs do.
Ive been taking buspar 30mg a day for awhile now and to be honest I dont really see much of a difference in me. Good thing I have a good drug plan cause this stuff isnt cheap.......

okay...thanks for the input guys.. Im going to stop taking it. Only been a few days/a week. I took it for 6 weeks+ a few years ago..didnt do a damn thing. Im not taking it anymore.
buspar did nothing at all for me. my side effects worsened my anxiety. it made my hands and feet tingle real bad.
Buspar is the worst thing for anxiety b/c it just doesnt help. You might as well be drinking water..LoL
Try xanax or ativan...
unlike the valium type tranquillisers, buspar isnt effective against panic attacks
DO NOT TAKE antidepressants for panic attacks!!!
I really believe these antidepressant pills r pushed too heavely!! I take xanax....0.5 to 1 mg a day and that is fine WITH NO SIDE AFFECTS!!
I also manage minor panic attacks with deep breathing/square breathing and FRESH air walks......not on a hot day! Have even had a cool shower.....with the curtain open as I am also claustrophopbic( LOL ) and works well too. Also a chat with a loved one who knows your situation works well too!!!
I have no knowledge of Buspar.
I never took it and I don't know anyone else who has.
As for AD's, I had no luck with them, but that doesn't mean that they don't work for others because I know several people who have had great success with them.
I guess the old stand by rule applies here...What works for one person doesn't work for everyone and just because something didn't work for you doesn't mean it won't work for someone else.
Everyone has to make the own personal decision when it comes to how to treat this disorder.
