It does indeed sound like Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and OCD,too. You'd be surprised how they go hand in hand.I have both, tho I never realised I had OCD till my family pointed out how I can rarely even sit thru a movie without jumping up to clean something or finish some task, all has to be in order, etc.I do better with my anxiety(I am in my 40's)as long as everything goes fairly smoothly, but if there is any abrupt disarming change, then it goes off the wall.I have tried paxil, worked ok but after abit I couldn't sleep,Effexor and Buspar,Zoloft all made me very nauseous,so I am hoping my doc can put me on something else.Maybe Lexapro or Celexa, something has to work!I take xanax or ativan for a temporary fix or to help sleep, and they do indeed work, but aren't really supposed to be taken on a daily basis as they can be addictive..
With the stress of plain old daily life,it's no wonder so many of us suffer from this, and unless you do suffer from it,you can't really explain it to someone who never has.
