I have been having trouble getting air sometimes at higher elevations. Today we headed down into another state for a funeral and I started to have trouble breathing. I didn't think anything of it at first, but then my arms started to tingle and go numb......and I felt light headed.....

We stopped to use the restroom and I shared with my husband how bad I was feeling, but decided to keep going. The symtoms only got worse........my first thought was panic attack......(OK I can deal with this)...but then my chest felt really tight, my arms felt worse and it was getting much harder to breath. I was trying not to be scared......At that point I'm thinking heart attack.............I knew if I was scared it would make matters worse.......but it just kept getting worse.

My husband drove me to the nearlest hospital and my blood pressure was REALLY high......so they rushed me into the ER and hooked me up on an eeg........took my blood pressure.....blood work, X-ray of chest, etc......in the mean time my body began to calm down..........and all the tests came back normal. The Dr. gave me atavan, and told me I was having a panic attack.

I have to say, even though I have read lots about them and even have several friends that get them, it was soooooo scarey. I couldn't make it stop.

I have been under excessive pressure the last few weeks......I think that had something to do with it........UGH..........
