Have you been keeping in touch with the doctor who prescribed the Lexapro? You really need to keep in touch with your doctor, or your doctors nurse for these answers. If you have had extensive things done to find out if you have a heart problems (which I have because I had reason to) and your EKGs come back good, and your doctor assures you it is only anxiety, then its ok to listen to your doctor. On the other hand if you have a history of heart problems and a family history of heart problems then you need to be talking to your doctor.Thats important. Now on the other hand, anxiety does and can cause severe symptoms. Some people have rushed to the emergency room because they thought they were dying when in fact they were having a panic attack.
Whatever you do, just keep all lines of communication open with your doctor.
Also, some people (many)who start Lexapro do complain of having extreme anxiety when taking it the first couple weeks and many people find relief after being on Lexapro after 3-6 weeks.
Please keep in touch on the boards, and I just want you to know that I care very much.
